About Us
At The Sickle Space, we’re more than just a foundation—we’re a dynamic movement rooted in advocacy, empowerment, and education. Our mission is to support individuals living with sickle cell disease and to shape a future where no one is left behind. From raising awareness to breaking societal barriers, we’re driving meaningful change across Ghana, Africa, and the world.
Our Mission
The Sickle Space Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals living with sickle cell disease (SCD) through a holistic, people-centered approach. We exist to educate, advocate, support, and empower—ensuring that those affected by SCD are not only seen and heard, but actively supported.
By creating awareness, driving systemic change, and providing vital resources, we aim to close critical gaps in healthcare, education, and social support for individuals and families navigating life with SCD. We are committed to improving access to quality healthcare—ensuring that from consultation to medication, financial barriers never stand in the way of the care they deserve.
Our mission also extends to fostering empathy, community resilience, and scientific advancement to improve the quality of life and life expectancy for those affected by SCD.
Our Vision
We envision a future where no one living with sickle cell disease is left behind— a world where early diagnosis, quality care, informed decision-making, and strong support systems are the norm, not the exception.
In this future, individuals with SCD will live with dignity—free from stigma and limitations— empowered to pursue their goals and contribute meaningfully to society.
We believe that through collaborative action, relentless advocacy, and inclusive innovation, this vision can become a reality—not just in Ghana, but across Africa and around the world.
